“Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.  Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.  And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.  So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.  And when Jesus came into the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”  So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.”  Luke 19:1-6

Whenever I read this scripture I picture Danny DeVito playing the part of Zacchaeus.  Zacchaeus was a tax collector and a little shady in his dealings with people, much like some of the characters DeVito has played. But Zacchaeus made a lot of good decisions on this day. For one, he made a great decision in that he sought Jesus.  Two, he didn’t let his size stop him from doing what needed to be done. Three, he thought outside the box and came up with a way to accomplish what needed to be done, he climbed a tree.  Four, When Jesus called him he came instantly.  Five, if we read a little further we will see he repented.  The end result was that he received his salvation.

If your life was in the Bible, what actor or actress do you see playing your part?
